Properties of the skin

Genuine "leather" is pleasant to the touch and, depending on the tanning and finish, soft or slightly harder, compacted.Worn leather clothing acquires its unique, delicate patina over time.Wearing real leather clothing has a very long tradition, it is timeless yet always fashionable.Real leather has a typical pleasant smell.

Skin - the only and irreplaceable

Genuine leather features individual optics. None is like another.Therefore, each leather product is unique.Skin is a mirror of nature's actions.The remains of these activities are irreplaceable evidence of its veracity:

• The difference in the fat content of the skin causes it to naturally vary in color and shade
• Insect bites leave visible, lighter spots on the skin
• Scars on the surface of the skin are marks from minor scratches or injuries.

Leather species

Leather garments is a generic term used to describe products made from many types of leather that are different in terms of their animal origin and the way they are tanned and finished.Each species of leather has a typical appearance and texture depending on the hairiness of the animal.The skin of each animal has two sides:

• Nappa: this is the outer side, which is subjected to smoothing after removal of hair, fluff or wool
• Velour: is a rough inner surface that is sanded into velour leather.It varies depending on the species of animal with such features as fiber structure or imprints of blood vessels.

Nappalan is a rough velour refined with a layer of artificial resin

Nubuck with a pleasant, silky-suede surface, on the other hand, is created by sanding the nappa

Lambskin has long been a particularly desirable and valued product of nature

Both sides of the leather are treated in a tannery.The inner one is sanded to velour or refined with artificial resin, while the wool outer one is smoothed, crimped or dyed.In addition to these, there are many other methods of finishing and refining leather, such as printing or embossing.They give the surface of the skin a unique appearance.
